Lead dancer “Lianne Stubbs” drops by for a Christmas chat…….

alt1)      At what age did you first realise you wanted to be a dancer?

I can’t remember a certain age, I guess I’ve always wanted to be a dancer, nothing else interested me.

2)      If you hadn’t have become a dancer, what profession do you think you would have liked otherwise and why?

Most people don’t know this about me as I can be a little ditzy sometimes, but I’m very organized and always write lists, so maybe an events planner or something stressful like that.

3)      You have had a very varied career and have performed in TV commercials, theatre/tribute shows such as 'West End Live' and 'Lord of the Dance', do you have any fun moments you can share from your experiences?

Theatre is always the most fun, but it’s just the little moments on stage that make me laugh the most, so it’s hard to choose one experience.

4)      What would you say are the most important things in your life?

Definitely my friends and family, I’m a very homely girl and wouldn’t know what to do without them.

5)      From the front of the stage it looks like you all have a great time touring with Essence of Ireland as you’re always smiling and laughing during the show – what sort of things make you laugh when you’re touring? Do you have any highlights from the 2011 Essence of Ireland Bigger & Better Tour? & what things do you miss the most when you’re touring?

This cast has been brilliant. We all really get on and laugh every day. When we all perform together we do have a giggle and genuinely enjoy ourselves. We all have our own personal moments on stage where things make us laugh and smile. I’ve made some really good friends on this tour with Essence, however my friends and boyfriend are what I miss the most when I’m touring.  I also miss watching the soaps in the week; thank god for sky plus!

6)      Now the 2011 tour is over do you have plans for Christmas?

I’m going to catch up with everybody back in Birmingham, and do a lot of relaxing ready for next year. Can’t wait!!

7)      Do you have any secret guilty pleasures over the holidays such as certain TV programs, music, food or hobbies?

I think everybody secretly does it, but I love watching Disney films at Christmas time and films I used to watch as a kid, like home alone.

8)      Winter in the UK can be a cold & wet affair sometimes, so if you could travel to anywhere in the world to celebrate New Year where would it be and why?

I actually love the cold at Christmas, so if I could go anywhere, it would be a ski holiday to Canada with my family. It’s amazing there.

9)      If there was one thing in this world you could do or change what would it be and why?

World peace. Just kidding, I would make footballers get paid less and performers more.

10)  Do you have any messages for your fans?

Thank you all so much for supporting ‘Essence of Ireland’. Merry Christmas xx
